Kitchen & Garden
We cook and grow at home in Newcastle Co. Wicklow. We have a fully HSE certified production kitchen in a converted barn and a kitchen garden outside.
A poly tunnel, a handful of raised beds and a little baby orchard make up the garden. In summer we make great use of our homegrown tomatoes, potatoes, courgettes, cucumbers, herbs and soft fruits.
It is incredibly important to us to be conscious of the impact our day to day business has on our local environment and economy. We do our very best to buy Irish ingredients and products and source ingredients with the highest welfare and environmental standards.
A few ingredients we are proud to use as standard in our kitchen:
- Organic chicken from Wexford
- Free range pork from Tipperary
- Irish beef and Lamb from Wexford
- Irish rapeseed oil from Wicklow
- Free range eggs from Wicklow
We also reduce, reuse, recycle and compost as much waste as we possibly can.

Kitchen and Larder is owned and operated by Ella Kennedy. Ella graduated with a B.Sc. in Culinary Arts from D.I.T. Cathal Bruagh St. in 2009. Prior to setting up her business in Newcastle, Co. Wicklow Ella worked in London with renowned chef Yotam Ottolenghi and also gained experience as a private chef in France and Belgium. The proprietor and principal chef at Kitchen & Larder, Ella has sucesfully catered weddings and private events in Wicklow and Dublin since 2011. Ella also has extensive experience teaching cookery and enjoys sharing her knowledge in a fun and professional style.
